These two imaginative Patriotic themed ornaments are part of a set we are making for Stacy’s All-American themed tree. Glenn created the brilliantly decorated Lincoln ornament by setting an antique scrap likeness of Lincoln on top of an original vintage paper cigar-flag embellished with vintage glass beads, antique papers and fabrics, and vintage cobalt blue star paper. Gail created a cardboard circle-star frame and covered it with vintage cotton batting from an old tree skirt. She then added an amazing antique scrap from the 1880s depicting the Original capital building as it looked over 140 years ago in the center of the star. Antique Dresden papers, crepe paper hand-screened red and white star border, Dennison paper stars, and red and blue cording follow the curves of the die-cut circle shape. All edges are finished off with antique tinsel and the back-side depicts an eagle and flag hand-cut from an antique post-card.
